There are not many stones in the industry with a long history spanning more than 150 years, and which are still quarried today holding large deposits of good quality marbles.
NORWEGIAN ROSE is one of these few stones.
QUARRIES & VARIETIES
The Fauske marble quarry encompasses an area of 13.5 acres. They are located in Fauske, Nordland, Norway, north of the Arctic Circle. There are as many as 16 varieties of NORWEGIAN ROSE with different shades and tones from Rose to Grey and Green are available, depending on the area where the quarrying is taking place. The blocks of this marble are available in sizes of 3.50 m in length and to 1.80/2.00 m in width.
FINISHES
While NORWEGIAN ROSE has been used with a polished surface finish it is the brushed and honed finish that is very popular in the market nowadays.
APPLICATIONS
The technical properties of all the marbles types from the NORWEGIAN ROSE quarry, proves the marble can be used for exterior applications in any climate conditions as well as in interiors. The magnesium content of about 12% of NORWEGIAN ROSE means it is dolomitic, has low absorption. Resistant to salt and frost and not affected by air pollution.
