It is a privilege for the Godoy Maceira Group to participate in the renovation of a national, cultural and tourist landmark. We will do so by supplying paving stones and other pieces in Porriño pink granite for the platforms, steps and spaces that make up the surroundings of Eduardo Chillida's famous Peine del Viento XV sculptures. This is the same material used to design the space, known as the Tennis Square, which was designed by Basque architect Luis Peña Ganchegui in 1976.

With this work, we want to highlight the importance of Porriño pink granite as a material with excellent technical qualities that proudly withstands the passage of time and inclement weather, such as in this case the rough waves and wind of the Cantabrian Sea.

The surroundings of the Peine del Viento are one of the great world-famous works made of Porriño pink granite, the result of a pioneering collaboration between Chillida and the Basque architect, which invites us to reflect on the relationship between man, art and public space.

GODOY MACEIRA, your Spanish company for special projects in natural stone
The Godoy Maceira Group is a family business founded in 1979 in O Porriño, Galicia, specialising in the design, transformation, production, restoration and installation of all types of natural stonework. Over the last decade, we have focused on two areas: on the one hand, the production of special pieces on demand, where almost any shape, size and design can be created in stone thanks to the technological investment, experience and craftsmanship of our team.
And, on the other hand, the restoration of landmark works of Spanish heritage, such as the Templete de la Red de San Luis by Antonio Palacios, Santiago Cathedral, the Palacio de la Oliva in Vigo, the Provincial Historical Archive of Ourense, etc.
