Parliament Palace, Bucharest (Romania)
The Parliament Palace in Bucharest (Romania) is no ordinary building. For one, it is considered to be the second biggest building in the world after the Pentagon in USA. There is some history behind it. Originally the project began as a Palace for the Romanian ex-dictator Nicolaus Ceaucescu, it started in the seventies, and the original name he gave was Casa Poporului (House of the People).

The realisation of this piece, the pedestal of the Llotja of Mare de Deu, forms part of the prolonged construction of the the Sagrada Familia Temple, in Barcelona, one of the most emblematic works of Gaudí.
Design in stone for urban furniture
As part of the Carrara Marmotec fair held from 19 to 22 May, 2010 held in the Italian city of Carrara, the exposition "Pezzi al Forte" was held. Nine young designers from Liguria (Italy) presented new prototypes of urban furniture in stone. The sample tries to make visible the perfect union between design, innovation and its practical usage.

The Association of the Businessmen of Marble from Andalusia (AEMA) celebrated the prize awarding ceremony of the Macael Awards, in its XX1V edition. Below we present a photo report of the winners in the different categories.
