The Finnish Stone Association, KIVI, has recently completed a study on the sustainability of natural stone. In collaboration with World Natural Stone Association (Wonasa) two webinars were organised on 30 April, 2020 with the objective of presenting this study to the stone industry. In recent years the Marmomac fair has organised diverse events in which 10 big names in contemporary design were invited to reinterpret marble and natural stone combining the creativity of these artists with the resources offered by new technologies.

Novelda has been associated in the world of natural stone for several decades with the word 'marble', and its image is intrinsically linked to Crema Marfil, the beige limestone which is mostly processed by the factories that exist in the town and others close by.
